Discover the Soul of Atelier Nenuphar

Born and raised in Rwanda, Nina holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art, with a strong foundation in Art History. Her interdisciplinary practice engages deeply with themes of women’s narratives, cultural memory, and ecological consciousness. Rooted in dialogue with women, her work explores identity, resilience, and agency through a lens informed by ritual and ancestral traditions. A profound commitment to environmental stewardship is reflected throughout her oeuvre, which frequently employs symbolism related to the natural world and sustainability. Nina’s collaborative approach extends across disciplines, working closely with performers, writers, and fellow visual artists to create multifaceted and dynamic projects. As an educator, she is dedicated to fostering individuals of all ages through their artistic journeys, nurturing critical inquiry and creative exploration while mentoring emerging artists to develop their unique voices within global and historical frameworks. Currently based in Louisiana with her beloved dogs, Athos and Kahlo, she continues to integrate her artistic and pedagogical practices, bridging cultural heritage and contemporary discourse.
